End User Computing Solution Designer

Role Purpose:

The mission of the Solution Expert is to maintain a high level of expertise on this Workstations technology domain. He/She will liaise with Service Managers and Solution Architects in service strategy definition, contribute to service development by designing solutions according to the service strategy and will act as Level 3 for supporting incident/problems processes. 

Within the GIO EUS Global Operations team, the Solution Expert CUW (Common User Workstation) helps to ensure the stable operation of Windows or Chrome based Endpoints on a global perimeter. The Solution Expert CUW will contribute and/or suggest technical improvements for the End User Service in general.


Responsibilities:
Windows Images
  • Engineering and maintenance of the global CUW - golden image - (based on Windows)
  • Create and maintain different configurations of CUW 
  • Support and/or propose evolutions regarding CUW
  • Evolution and monitoring of the industrial process to distribute the golden image to Field Service all around the globe
  • Share new CUW images with hardware providers and validate its correct functionality 
  • Write technical documentation and procedures
  • Adhere to the company ITIL change management process and support global Chand Advisory Board meetings
  • Advise on technology decisions & provide service implementation guidelines
 
Workstation Management
  • Work closely and actively with other team members on different projects linked to workstation management
  • Conduct daily technical administrative work to ensure the availability, stability and security of the solution and endpoints
  • Supports the patching and upgrades of systems and operating systems in the environment
  • L3 support and troubleshooting, analyze problems and root causes
  • Contribute to realize technical implementation relevant to support the strategy of EUS and its Roadmap
  • Understand and document the technical requirements for new services or service enhancements.
  • Advise on technology decisions & provide service implementation guidelines
  • Review & provide input on proposals from an architectural perspective, including feasibility, technical viability
  • Contribute to the problem management and Continuous Improvement processes around workstation management. This does include contribution with knowledgement management for End User Support teams (procedures, knowledge articles, etc, ….)

Requirements:
  • Experience - 2 to 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure in large multinational companies, if possible with a End User Service major
  • Proven experience in Microsoft MDT, AIK, WDS
  • Proven experience in Image creation
  • Proven experience in Workstation management (MS SCCM or BBCA Marimba or IBM BigFix)
  • Strong knowledge in Windows OS
  • Experience confirmed in script languages (VBS, Powershell) 
  • Solid understanding of End User related devices (Laptop, Desktop, Tablet, Chromebook)
  • GPO
  • Solid understanding of DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IP Printing, LAN, WLAN, Web Browsers
  • Knowledge of Printing Services  
  • Experience with the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework 
  • Experience in MDM (Workspace one, MobileIron, Soti, Intune) is a plus
  • First experience with Chrome OS is a plus
  • Experience with a ITSM tool with preference for Service Now
